Description
with Stag Handle
This was Randall’s original drop point blade. After more than 70 years, it is still one of their most usable knives. Designed in 1952 by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, for big game skinning, with a point that is “dropped” below the top of the blade to prevent cutting too deeply through the skin when used point first. The top of the blade is notched in front of the hilt for thumb placement.
We first offered the Alaskan Skinner this year with a leather handle. We ordered just a few to see how our customers would respond and offered them only on our website. The response was spectacular. Apparently, you like this knife as well as I do. It was the first Randall I bought many, many years ago.
This is a serious hunting knife with a 3/16″ thick 3-1/4″ blade of O1 high carbon tool steel (not stainless) at 53-55 Rc., Stag handle, brass hilt and butt cap and a Model A leather sheath with sharpening stone. Measures 7-3/8″ tip to butt. We recommend RustFree™ to protect your O-1 blade from rust. (RF125 . . . . . . $8.95). Weighs 6.7 oz. Handmade in the U.S.A.
(8-2024) Due to Randall’s high volume of orders, if not on our shelves when you order, delivery of Randall knives ordered from A. G. Russell is currently taking 10-12 months. If ordered directly from Randall the wait is currently about 6 years.
